Big Savings for WA Homes: New Federal & State Battery Rebates Coming July 2025

Cheaper Home Batteries Program (Federal)

The Australian Government’s $2.3 billion Cheaper Home Batteries Program will provide significant support for households and small businesses installing new batteries. Key benefits include:

• Up to $372 per usable kilowatt-hour (kWh) of battery capacity
• Around 30% off the cost of eligible battery systems
• Support for batteries sized 5–50 kWh
• Installations from 6 April 2025 are eligible, if not commissioned until 1 July 2025

WA Residential Battery Scheme

The WA Government is also introducing the WA Residential Battery Scheme, offering:

• Up to $5,000 for Synergy customers
• Up to $7,500 for Horizon Power customers in regional areas
• Means-tested interest-free loans for low to middle-income households

However, the scheme is limited to just 19,000 households, so spots will be highly competitive.
